EarthTeam's COOL SCHOOLS Global
Warming Campaign equips middle and high school students
in the Bay Area and beyond with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration
to take action against global warming in their schools and communities.
Students can get involved in different ways, depending on their
interest and amount of time they have available. Have fun while
working on the most challenging environmental issue by attending
one or more of our monthly meetings or by planning
an action project on campus with help from the
Cool Schools program director. See below for more information!

SCHOOLS ACTION PROJECTS:
Waste Action Month (WAM!) For West Contra Costa and Central Contra Costa County
schools. Find out how much energy - and carbon emissions
- your school can save by recycling more! During this month-long
action project your class or club will conduct a waste audit
your school, use the data you collect to calculate how much
carbon could have been saved by recycling items that were
put in the garbage, then carry out an education campaign
at your school, and perform a follow-up waste audit to see
if improvement was made. Cash prize to be given to the school
that makes the biggest waste improvement in each school
district.
Carbon Reduction

Encourage students on your middle or high school campus
to take simple steps to reduce their carbon footprint! One
