Annual Contests & Awards
Visuals & Voices
A Traveling Eco-Art, Photography and Poetry Show for
Bay Area Teens
Visuals and Voices contest and traveling show provides young people with an opportunity to creatively express their relationship to the environment. The traveling show celebrates the student artists of the Bay Area and voices their love for the natural world and their desire to ensure its protection through responsible environmental stewardship. Visuals and Voices travels to museums, libraries and other locations throughout the Bay Area for twelve months, remaining for one month at each location.

Visuals & Voices 2007
In its 4th annual year, Visuals and Voices (V&V) included submissions from middle and high schools in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Francisco County, as well as from schools outside of California. Entries ranged in medium and focus: from photos that celebrate the beauty of nature, to cartoons that address pressing environmental issues, to poetry that reflects on the connection between humans and the rest of the natural world. In addition to the following award winners, judges selected additional entries to be included in the V & V traveling exhibit (see below for exhibit dates and locations).
