EarthTeam launched their 2016-2017 school year recruitment at Antioch High this Thursday. Program associate, Julia Dorosh, presented to 7 classes consisting of sophomores, juniors, seniors. The energy was high, and students had many questions. EarthTeam Alumni Cassie Lanphere, shown above, Latavia Bates, and MacKenzie Gunian shared their EarthTeam experiences with their peers, and were so pleased with the program they are reapplying this year.

This is our very first post. In the 2017-2018 school year, LPS Oakland RD student interns will participate in an after school service-learning project to reduce contamination in the waste streams in their school & communities. This blog will serve as a platform for interns to share their work.

Program Associate Jenna Topper spent the whole day this past Monday at Oakland High School presenting to over 20 classes! A total of 688 students got to learn about this year’s internship programs and were invited to apply.

There was an overwhelming consensus and awareness that trash is a big problem here in Oakland, and we are looking forward to giving our future environmental leaders all the tools and resources they need to make real change in their communities and tackle waste issues both on and off campus.
