Hayward, CA's Mt. Eden High School tried something new this Spring--they started a recycling club to see if they could change the culture on campus from wasteful to more sustainable. They started with EarthTeam's Waste Action Project and followed up by starting an after school internship with a handful of passionate students. LEAF 2014 Banner During the weekend of May 17-18th, 2014 over 70 students from 13 schools throughout the East Bay attended the 12th annual LEAF conference at Camp Arroyo in Livermore, CA. Students attended many of the 14 workshops offered by professionals and organizations in the environmental field such as Litterati, StopWaste, Food Shift, Planting Justice, Green 360, Climate Access and much more. Castlemont High WAP savings design Student Interns at East Oakland's Castlemont High School have been making some major progress towards a waste free campus this year.
