A nonprofit organization that has a mission to help people discover

Save The
Bay
teaches young people about the Bay-Delta so they appreciate and protect
our waterways and wetlands. Canoes in Sloughs is an innovative, experiential
program that places students from 6th to 12th grade in canoes to explore
the estuary ecosystem up close. Their website has information on facts
on SF bay including pollution, urban sprawl, dams and canoes. They also
have newspaper articles on topics such as cleaning up toxics.
The
San Francisco Bay-Delta Model
At 2100 Bridgeway in Sausalito. This is a great field trip destination
with a miniaturized representation of the bay. The model is open
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Engineers usually operate
the model every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call ahead
