This award winning site has an enormous amount of information for all ages about the sea and the sky.

The Cousteau Society
The Cousteau Society provides information and insight on environmental issues to inspire better protection of the earth.

Global Rivers Environmental Education Network (GREEN)
formed to rehabilitate watersheds, world-wide, provides accessible and up-to-date watershed information through their printed materials and the internet.

Urban Watershed Project  
A nonprofit organization working on the restoration of Tennessee Hollow watershed in the Presidio of San Francisco. This website will provide more information about testing other water quality parameters, and the water and carbon cycles. This organization collaborates educational outreach efforts with UC Berkeley's environmental science and geology departments.


Locating a Creek

San Francisco Bay Area Watersheds & Resources  
This web site provides information on San Francisco Bay Area watersheds and resources. The have a listing of watersheds representing the modern waterscape. Many listed creeks have associated nonprofit organizations doing monitoring, restoration and advocacy work for the creek.

The San Francisco Estuary Project  
General information on the Estuary, wetlands (types, history, value, pressure, and issues), pollution, and watershed management. They have connections to watershed protection efforts in the Bay Area. Teacher Workshops prepare you to teach about the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary's aquatic ecosystem.

BEES
A nonprofit organization that works with educators to develop innovative environmental education programs which are multidisciplinary, inquiry-based, and customized around a local issue. Our programs engage middle to high school students in an in-depth and hands-on examination of an issue, incorporate many perspectives, and include the use of technology tools, exposure to career opportunities, and practice in using workplace readiness skills.

US fish and wildlife provide a national wetlands inventory

San Francisco Estuary Project
General information on SF estuary, wetlands (types, history, value, pressure, and issues glossary), and watershed management. Publishes "Estuarywise" educational materials facts on San Francisco Bay–Delta Estuary.

Water Resource Use Characterization/Utilization
Lots of very detailed information about different water quality characteristics. Good background information on watersheds, water quality and land treatment issues.

The Web-based Integrated Science Environment (WISE)
The WISE project offers extensive information on most water quality topics with a special emphasis on Strawberry creek in Berkeley.
