Eco-Art on display at Jack London Square

Artwork from Lamorinda high school and middle school students will be on display in Oakland.

"Visuals and Voices," a traveling art show by teens, kicks off its year-long exhibit with an event at Jack London Square on Sunday, May 29.

Works of art, photography and poetry will be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with music from bands like Night Train Blues Band, made up of College Park students, and Glass Hour, recently featured in a video created by Campolindo students.

The traveling show then takes up residence at the Oakland Museum for the month of June. It will also make stops in San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Richmond, Pittsburg, Hayward and Lafayette over the next year.

The exhibit is the brainchild of the EarthTeam Youth Coalition, a group of local students devoted to the environment.
