EarthTeam's Doug Streblow Presents #ZeroLitter at National Service Learning Conference

Right now, the 26th Annual National Service Learning Conference is underway in Washington D.C. Its theme, More Powerful Together (#MPT15), highlights the event’s focus on positive youth-adult collaborative discussions on education and social policy. More than 1,500 young people from around the world will convene for three days of learning, inspiration, and connection. EarthTeam’s very own Doug Streblow will host a Zero Litter Project curriculum workshop.

This innovative project showcases EarthTeam’s focus on service learning and the iterative process. Born out of student-led solutions to litter on campuses, the project leverages the power of technology and social media to drive change, reduce litter, and improve watershed health. To date, more than 10,000 pieces of litter have been cataloged and disposed of. Further, this data has lead to actionable to solutions to common causes of litter. With the process fine-tuned through student-user trial and error, EarthTeam's Zero Litter Project curriculum allows anyone to launch a campaign in their school or community.

Follow Doug’s live coverage of the event and sneak peeks of the curriculum on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook (#zerolitter).
