Student Interns Go Camping
During the Memorial Day weekend EarthTeam student interns from many high schools throughout the East Bay got a chance to hit the trail, sleep under the stars and have a whole lot of fun in the outdoors at Lake Chabot Regional Park in the East Bay hills. Students played lots of games, learned about Leave No Trace camping and how to set up their own tents.
Students were led on natural history hike of the area to see native plants as they wove through tight switchbacks and lush canyons.
Students learned how and then set up their own tents which we were able to rent for free from Bay Area Wilderness Training (thank you BAWT!).
When students weren't hiking or learning outdoor skills they were playing games and having fun while getting to know one another.
Students enjoyed making smores over an open fire to end the night.
