Students from Antioch High School had the opportunity to pull invasive species from the Antioch Dunes Wildlife Refuge this past week. For one of their final classes, students conducted a litter cleanup as well and had a pizza party by the river. Students also learned about local pirates that sometimes come to shore and even saw an abandoned and sunken ship, for an entirely new ecosystem to emerge.

For the rest of the academic year and the summer, students will participate in various camping and hiking trips, attend multiple volunteer events and support coastal shoreline restoration, and help with Earth Team recruitment for the next academic year.
