This program is made possible by the support of the Bay Area Air Quality District, the US Environmental Protection Agency, the North American Association for Environmental Education, the California Environmental Protection Agency, Altamont EAB, the Coastal Conservancy, the JV Long Foundation, the California Natural Resources Agency, NOAA, Clif Bar Foundation, and Alameda County, as well as 8 collaborating East Bay public high schools.

Each year Earth Team hires teams of 14 interns at various high schools throughout the East Bay. Our teams of interns are trained to work on hands-on service-learning projects that aim to improve the environment and raise community awareness. Throughout the program students meet local environmental professionals and learn technical skills that are applicable to environmental careers. We encourage students to think globally, connect regionally, and act locally.

Never done an interview before? Don’t panic! Phone interviews are a great way for us to get to know you better and find out why you’re interested in Earth Team. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have about the program.

My experience with Earth team has been amazing. I got to explore nature and how it works, and the problems we face as a society. With my experience I am able to apply these to future adventures.
There was a lot that I learned from this year at Earth Team, especially about myself! I’ve learned about my passion and great interest in the environment and even the fact that I would love to pursue a career in environmental engineering.
I enjoyed learning more about climate change and the effects on us. The activities were fun and I learned a lot from them. Also getting to know other people from our school that I don’t usually talk to was a great experience.
I enjoyed meeting new people and getting closer with them, learning about environmental issues and stewardship, and doing hands-on experiments.
