Earth Team Antioch Kicks Off a New Year

Earth Team returns to Antioch High School for its 5th consecutive year.

A new year of Earth Team’s Sustainable Youth Internship Program has commenced at Antioch High School!

Itzel Gomez is excited to be back as this year’s campus coordinator. She interviewed over 50 students at Antioch High before narrowing candidate decisions down to 14 passionate, committed interns.

This year Earth Team interns at Antioch can expect to work on a variety of environmental and STEM projects focused on restoring and maintaining healthy watersheds. They will continue their partnership with the Contra Costa Flood Control District and Contra Costa Resource Conservation District to restore natural habitats at the Upper Sand Creek Basin in Antioch. Their work will include invasive species removal, native plant installations, water quality monitoring, and litter removal. Our biggest goal this year is to make students on campus increasingly aware of local and global environmental challenges.

We look forward to a year filled with learning, fun, and positive impacts.
