I also like to thrift, listen to music, read and write, sew, take pictures, cook, and I love animals. I joined Earth Team because I have a passion for the outdoors, and It has a very welcoming atmosphere where I can meet new people and learn more about ways I can help the environment. I want to make a difference alongside my other teammates, make a cleaner city, and help with research projects!
Hello, my name is Najuna and I’m a junior at Berkeley High School! This is my second year doing Earth Team and I chose to do it for a second time, because I really enjoyed all the cleanups and events we got to do last year. It was also very fulfilling for me to see how we positively benefited our community and I knew I wanted to continue doing that this year as well!. I hope to learn more about the environment and our impact on it, and also more ways youth can get involved in climate activism/justice. I’m excited to do more field work this year, because I get to be outdoors, while helping reduce my carbon footprint. I’m also excited to work with all the new interns, as well as the interns from other schools!

I joined earth team because I feel a responsibility to help the community and the environment. i became passionate about environmental preservation in elementary school when we took a trip to the dump and I saw firsthand how much waste we caused on a regular basis. The more I learn about climate change the more I hear about bad things happening to communities and ecosystems all over the world.
