San Lorenzo High’s Earth Team has been doing a lot of thinking about how to best communicate complex environmental issues. After a first semester spent mostly learning and interacting with concepts related to environmental degradation, the team is now turning its focus to try to communicate these ideas effectively and get people to change their behavior.
With the help of our partners at the Museum of Tomorrow, a pop-up museum focusing on interactive exhibits communicating environmental issues, the team has begun brainstorming installations that would allow people to see many of the problems facing our environment in new ways. These ideas cover issues from the increasing frequency of natural disasters to the many reasons to protect our forest resources, and are being planned in both virtual and in-person settings.
Recently, the team practiced telling compelling stories that also illustrate different environmental issues to practice for their exhibit design. One of the presentations, about the impacts of fast fashion, can be seen below. The team acted out the presentation and did an excellent job with voice acting.

Stay tuned for more updates about the team’s efforts to change the world, one mind at a time.
