On September 21, interns from Skyline High School attended coastal cleanup day at Brickyard Cove in the Berkeley Marina. After joining city officials for a safety orientation, our group traveled to the cove where they performed litter assessments on the beach and then did a cleanup.
The data collected from this event will help guide city officials in crafting policies to deal with plastic pollution throughout Alameda County. Thank you to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association and the California Environmental Protection Agency for making this event possible!
